How Many Coats Of Paint Do We Apply On The Wall?

By PaintingGuy On June 1, 2011 659 views | 4 Comments

The recent questions that our customers make were, “How many coats of paint do you apply on the wall?”

The answer is basically 2 coats of paint. Why do we apply 2 coats is because this is the best number of coat of paint that will bring out the colour and economical for the client.

Why we do not paint 1 coat, you can view the post on the link.

There are instances where we have to use 3 coats, the first coat is the base coat of white, usually will use Nippon Matex. Then follow by 2nd and 3rd coat of paint, the clients choose. The reason for having the 3 coats is because the current wall colour is strong like black or bright red, and the colour that the client wants to have is a different colour.

Another example is that we need to use sealer as base painting, it may be due to old walls, moist walls, etc…

The price for painting 3 coats of paint will be more, and will be accessed by our painting contractors whether to use 2 or 3 coats of paint. Do contact us here using the form, the viewing is free and no obligation. By the way we offer 2 year warranty for using our painting services.

Unreasonable Painting Inquiriers: How Do We Handle Them

By PaintingGuy On May 10, 2011 412 views | 2 Comments

We have received a few unreasonable inquiriers to use our painting services before, asking us to do this, add that, decrease price, etc… And in the end comment to us that we did not serve them well, and that it’s their rights to have what they want (when they have not pay us yet).

This is what we will do. Ask them politely to engage some other painting contractors in Singapore, since we were not able to provide what they are asking for. BUT, sometimes (like today) they would insist/demand on using us for painting their home.

This is the part that we are most afraid of. We will always reject to take up their unreasonable painting jobs. Because we do not want to prostitute ourselves for making money from them, since we cannot take up their request. And we can move on to other more pleasant people.

With all said and done, we do not harbor any ill intent to these unreasonable inquiriers. But if they have not pay for our painting services and make any complaint to any of the forums or to any media, we will take action against this.

We will always welcome people who wants to inquire our painting services, JUST please be nice to us too, we are humans just like you. We make mistakes just like you too.

God bless you.

1 Coat Painting: Why We Do Not Take Up

By PaintingGuy On April 20, 2011 666 views | 1 Comment

Customers have been asking us to paint 1 coat of paint for their house. The reasons are that they want to rent out their house, so a coat of paint will be enough and will be cheaper.

Second, is that some lousy painting contractors who did not do a good job for their client, so the clients needed touch ups for the walls that have not been painted well.

We are not able to provide painting services if only 1 coat of paint is used. Reasons being that the finishes do not look professional and nice, secondly we do not want to lower our wall painting standard.

Hope you can understand.

Difference Between Painting One Room To Whole House

By PaintingGuy On February 16, 2011 918 views | 3 Comments

A few of our customers have been asking the difference between painting a room compare to the whole house? Well there seem to have no difference, but the painting price and the number of colours to choose from will be 1 for a room. Why is that so?

Here are our explaination

1) As compare to painting the whole house to a room, the whole house will require more people (depending on the size of the house), whereas a room will typically be a one man painting show. It take a day for a one man to paint the 1 room, as there may be furniture in the room, only 1 man is there to move them around.  But for a team of painters will be different, they can help each other in moving, while the rest can prepare or even start painting. That is why HDB painting usually requires 2 days, unless you are living in a Maisonette HDB, which will take up to 4 days.

2) The cost of the painting materials for both are close in price. I am not taking about the number of containers of paint, I am referring to the equipments for the painting, like the painting brush, painting roller, masking tape, plastic drop sheet, etc… The most is only $30 difference, depending on the size of the house too.

3) As for the price of painting a room in Singapore, click on the link to read more….

We need to make a profit to survive in Singapore, as most of our painting workers are not local, we have to pay to taxes to use overseas workers to the  government. That will explain why the cost is such for painting 1 room.

Painters Workers In Singapore

By PaintingGuy On January 10, 2011 514 views | 2 Comments

Most of our painters are from overseas, they are from Myanmar. They have at least 5 years of house painting experience before we hire them.

To tell you the truth, most of the workers in Singapore especially working in the construction areas are from the overseas, they came here to earn a living and feed their family back home.

Is there no Singaporeans who are House Painters?

Well there are, but most of them are old timers. They cost a lot and because of their age, tend to be slow in their painting work. As Singaporeans are brought up in good education, the lowest level in education will be primary 6. But the living condition in Singapore is good, so most of the Singaporeans prefer a office work or even working in a restaurant, rather than a painter.

I have found out from our clients, that most of the best foreign painters are from Myanmar or Malaysia delivers the best painting services job in Singapore. But why these two nationalities? Our clients casually tell us that the other nationalities do not deliver the job well, and has a lot of bad experience in painting their home.
